How to create and use WhatsApp templates
META WhatsApp sends use approved templates — not free-form chat text.
Use a template in Broadcast
1. Dashboard → Broadcast Message → Whatsapp (META)
2. Select Whatsapp Message (template)
3. Preview header / body and fill any variables
4. Broadcast to members → select recipients → Send
Create or sync templates (Admin)
1. On the Whatsapp (META) tab, open Create Whatsapp Message (or sync from MSG91)
2. Choose category (Marketing or Utility)
3. Set header / body / footer as required
4. Save — template must be approved in MSG91 / Meta before members receive it
Class vs general
Use the same Broadcast META flow for class-related and general templates. Prefer clear template names so staff pick the right one.
Steps to add templates to your MSG91 account and get it approved
Go to your MSG91 Account > WhatsApp > Templates > Create New Template > Add details as per the table below
Add the template name given in the table > select Utility in type of messages

Please get the below templates approved on your MSG91 account for your sender number
Note:
The text in bold inside Example Body should be added as {{var}} in MSG91.
Template name should be same as given in the table
Example Header can be any text of your choice.
Example Footer can be any text of your choice.
The number of variables in Example Body should be as per Number of Variables column.
Any template registered as Marketing or being sent to non-existing members should have a line mentioned at the end of the message - Reply STOP to unsubscribe.
The variables should be placed in the body in the same order.
