Covers: automatic Whatsapp message, META template approval

To start sending automatic Whatsapp messages to members for important actions like onboarding a members, renewal or payment due reminder, birthday or anniversary greetings, the template message needs to be approved under your phone number on META.

1. Complete META Business Verification

2. Add and verify the phone number in MSG91

3. Configure Whatsapp API under Account Settings → SMS & Whatsapp

1. Goto Account Settings → SMS & Whatsapp (Super Admin)

2. Scroll down to Whatsapp Messages

3. Click Upload next to the message

The message template will be sent to META for approval. The status will change to Pending. Use Refresh status button on the top to fetch approval status. Messages are ready to send once status changes to Approved.

Once the required messages are approved, turn on the toggle switches to for actions you want to send automatic Whatsapp messages.

META may sometime automatically change the message category from Utility to Marketing at the time of approval. You can appeal this change from your META Business Suite.
